- The Preah Vihar controversy isn't over, it just simmers at a little bit lower heat lately. Now the Cambodian noticed that Google Earth/Google Maps shows "wrong" boundaries in this area, Ogle Earth has done a very good analysis of the boundary issue. Now Google also said they will look into the issue.
- News in Bangkok gives an article on the success of the OTOP (One Tambon One Product) program, which has now also been introduced in neighboring Malaysia.
- At the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA), the purchase of a new database system has turned into a big mess - the officials investigating irregularities at the purchase being transferred to the insurgency troubled Yala province, and after it became public quickly returned to their old posts (The Nation, February 23). A day later, the Prime Minister halted the whole purchase.
- The Office of the Ombudsman and the college of local administration of the King Prajadhipok's Institute have held a discussion on the code of ethics for the administrators in the local government entities.

Andy, I had read about the Google Earth situation just earlier today and it seems Cambodia is quite upset with them.
If only Thailand and Cambodia would realize how much they stood to gain if they managed the site together. It would be a boon to both countries.
I've seen very old Thailand and Cambodian maps that have the site firmly on one side or the other so I think this will be an issue for a very long time.
